As usual, my current state of frenetic academic work all culminates into one massive lump of ‘oh yeah… gotta do that haven’t I?’ So at present here are four things I’ve got to finish this week.
- Final edit of the book chapter for Heidegger and The Work of Art History book chapter collection – this is my big essay on Harman, Heidegger and Every Icon, significantly revised. The chapter is now called ‘The Return of Discrete, Autonmous Artworks: Heidegger, Harman and Algorithmic Allure‘.
- Another final edit for another book chapter, this in an edited collection called Violence and The Limits of Representation. This one’s called ‘Objects of Surprise: Violence, Security and Metaphysics‘.
- I’m preparing a taught session/class/lecture for Plymouth Uni iDAT students on criticality and games for next Tuesday featuring a whole load of stuff.
- Finally, if I get all that done, I’ve got to get round to completing a first draft of a co-authored paper (with Geoff Cox) for an Aarhus aesthetics conference in December.
Damn. I did say I wouldn’t complain. So I won’t.
